La Belle Angele

A longstanding nightclub on the Cowgate that was restored after a fire, La Belle Angele has reopened and is now home to a host of DJ nights and events. It is one of Edinburgh’s best loved venues for live music, performances and late night DJs.

Originally formed in the early nineties, it was for a decade at the forefront of underground art, music and clubbing culture. It was destroyed in the infamous Cowgate fire on December 8 2002 but has since been restored and is now back on its original site.

This 600 capacity venue was custom built to pick up where it left off more than a decade ago – to ensure an incredibly focus on live music, performance art, exhibitions and the best club events. In addition to a number of varied DJ nights, it has also recently launched its own Fringe programme.

Liquid Rooms

With an eclectic mix of club nights (techno, hip-hop, alternative), top indie bands and regular tribute nights, Liquid Rooms is one of Edinburgh’s best nightclubs. It’s also an important venue for the local gay community.

Located in the Old Town, this long-running music and clubbing venue has been open since 1997. It has seen performances by up-and-coming bands including Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, Divine Comedy and Stereophonics.
